To ensure 100% completion, follow this guide closely, one wrong move can lock you out of key achievements or collectibles. 2️⃣ Playthroughs Needed Unlike other entries in the series, The Devil in Me has a relatively forgiving achievement list. You’ll need 1 full playthrough and 2 partial ones (approx. 2 total runs) to get everything. 3️⃣ Collectibles Galore There are multiple types of collectibles to track: Secrets (standard items) Premonitions (framed images that reveal possible future events) Obols (a currency used to unlock extras) You'll know you picked one up when you see on-screen messages like: ✅ "Secret Found" ✅ "Premonition Unlocked" 🪙 Obols vary in value (1–10 points) and are tied to an achievement for collecting 200 points worth. There's an efficient farming spot late in the guide—so don’t stress if you miss a few early on. ✅ Tips for a Smoother Playthrough ⚙️ Adjust Your Accessibility Settings Before starting, go to Settings > Accessibility and consider turning ON: Disable QTE Timeout Disable Combat Timer These options let you take your time with button prompts, perfect if you want a less stressful experience or are aiming for 100% completion. Important: A few QTEs later on require the timer, and the guide will point out when to re-enable it. 💾 No Manual Saves The game autosaves constantly. After a brief conversation with the owner, the game introduces the tutorial for picking up and examining items. Marie will sign the guestbook. Dialogue Choice: REASSURING After the conversation, Marie walks over to a display area. There are two possible items to pick up, but for this playthrough: 🧴 Collectable : Rose Water Bottle (Inventory Item 1-2/13) Picking this up triggers the Bearings System , which tracks important decisions and their consequences throughout your playthrough. Marie and Jeff then head upstairs and decide to explore a private room in the hallway, classic horror movie behavior. Here, you’ll get your first Keep Calm QTE tutorial. These moments require you to press the right button in rhythm with an on-screen heartbeat. On Medium or Easy difficulty, they’re manageable, use this opportunity to get used to them. Afterward, the couple engages in a playful pillow fight. Use RT to throw the pillow. QTE: PRESS A Then aim at Jeff to hit him again. After a few more cutscenes, Marie asks Jeff for help opening the bathroom door. QTE: MASH X Character: Jeff Jeff walks down the hallway to the door at the end. Interact: Open the door QTE: PRESS A Character: Marie Marie will now be shown how to use inventory items. Use: Rose Water After stepping into the bath, Marie notices someone enter the room. Dialogue Choice: INVESTIGATE Shortly after, a QTE will trigger: QTE: MASH A The rest of the prologue plays out automatically. As with all Dark Pictures prologues, it is not possible to save these characters, but by following the choices listed above, you will unlock the following: 🏆 Achievements Unlocked: Until Death Do Us Part 2 – Jeff and Marie watched each other die Murder Castle – Completed the Prologue 🎬 These chapters consist of cutscenes only. No collectibles or choices required. Character: Charlie The chapter begins with Charlie making his way toward the lighthouse. This section mostly consists of light traversal and exploration. You’ll be introduced to several basic mechanics: Jogging Climbing Shimmying Squeezing through tight spaces Balancing on ledges Along the way, you can interact with a few optional objects: A warning sign A memorial plaque A minor jump scare Once you reach the top, head to the small building on the left. Climb in through the side window to find two notes you can interact with. (Note: These are not collectibles.) The main gate is locked. Instead, head through the hole in the fence to the left of it. Continue to the right side where you’ll find a crow and a locked box. Use Charlie’s tie clip to open it. 💰 Collectable: Obol (Obol #1 – Value Varies) Obols are a new collectible currency. They come in different values, and you’ll need to gather a total value of 200 for the achievement: 🏆 I Like Money The door ahead is locked. Push the dumpster beside the building under the window to climb inside. 🔒 QTE Tutorial – HIDE Event Once inside, you’ll get your first Hide QTE. When hiding, an arrow will appear over valid hiding spots. Hold the button before the bar depletes to successfully stay hidden. Proceed through the now-open door and immediately turn right. 🖼️ Collectable: White Picture Frame #1/13 – EXPLOSION Picture frames are Premonition Collectibles. White frames show potential life-saving outcomes. Black frames reveal possible character deaths. Go through the hole in the wall, then head upstairs. You can interact with the crow on the table if you like. Enter the only accessible room and climb the ladder on the wall to trigger a cutscene that ends the chapter. Character: Kate After stepping off the ferry: 🗨️ CHOOSE: PLAYFUL Once you gain control of Kate, follow the path ahead. Stay to the right side of the trail to find a collectible on the ground: 🗂️ Secret 1/50 – #10: Stiletto Shoe ⚠️ Always rotate and inspect collectibles thoroughly. Do not put the item down until you see the “SECRET FOUND” message on-screen. Continue up the trail: Jump over a log Climb a ledge Duck under a fallen tree Climb more ledges Jump onto a rooftop Balance across a log Drop down on the other side near a fence As you approach the fence: 🕹️ QTE – HIDE Quickly hide when prompted. After the characters pass, continue forward, climbing more ledges. Head toward the shack, which is locked. Climb the path ahead and circle around to the side. Crouch to enter the shack.
