This game is an MMO, therefore the review may not accurately depict the game in the current state. ===GAMEPLAY=== It's pretty much what you'd expect from an MMO: depending on your role you move around, use spells and either aggro the enemies or try to no aggro them whilst trying to avoid areas of damage. On top of that you have the expected quests and dungeons to grind Astral Diamonds which will be likely spent in the Auction House to buy equipment, runes, mounts and similar off players who decided to pay real money to open lockboxes with hopes of receiving items they will then sell in said auction house. The experience in the late game is either "be the one who puts the stuff in the auction house" (the one spending money) or "be the one who grinds for months for one mount". Whilst the best equipment and runes can be obtained without relying on the auction house, the best companions and mounts are found only in the auction house or the lockboxes. ===BUGS/MISSED OPPORTUNITIES=== The game has significant wasted potential: it requires to play all day every day, otherwise you will have to spend three times the time to catch up to where you would have been if you played that day. On top of that working a real life job for couple hours at minimum wage and spending said wage on the game to buy Zen which will then be converted to Astral Diamonds removes weeks of grinding (seriously, make the calculation yourself. You will lose your mind!). Even if one were to ignore these important issues, you won't have time to not grind: completing the newest campaign without missing a single opportunity takes approximately the time it takes to release a new campaign, give or take a few weeks. So the best equipment you spent months grinding will no longer be the best by the time you are done grinding it. ===GRAPHICS=== The graphics are a bit outdated, but still enjoyable. ===REPLAYABILITY=== The game is an MMO, stop playing for half a year and you will have a year's worth of playing to catch back up. ===FINAL VERDICT=== The game has significant potential, but the late game is built in a way that I can only call Inappropriate, Predatory and unacceptable. It really shouldn't be acceptable to have a situation where begging on the street and spending those money on the game gives you more progress than actually playing all day. As if this weren't enough the server has notoriously high ping (100+) and just never allows you to enjoy what you've works months to get because by the time you got the thing there's already something better. I simply cannot in good faith suggest this game. (My apologies for any mistakes, I'm not a native English speaker.)

Great game, great graphics, immersive stories and lore, heavy with details. However if you are looking to play because you read R.A Salvatore Drizzt books, you'll be disappointed, they altered the story so as not to take from the books, or visa versa. I enjoy it a lot.

I have been playing since launch, absolutely love this game! Only thing I don't like is when they dropped level cap to 20 like the AD&D game ruleset and cut a bunch of the old zones and dungeons which they have been slowly readding them. Always updating, lots of lore, the grind and combat are enjoyable. You can not play for a while, come back and pickup right where you left off, voice acting and storylines are awesome! They follow the modules for the RPG plus it takes place in Faerun, best setting in D&D! So many different races and classes, would love to see more added in the future. Neverwinter is just such a fun game to play! You cant go wrong, its worth a shot for anyone that enjoys Forgotten Realms.

Lore rich Faerun setting with unlimited options on what to do. With regular updates and new events/campaigns this game is going to be around for quite awhile.
