Tedious to setup OptiScaler to take advatage of the newly released FSR 4.1.1 and the game crashes a lot on my computer, but it's gorgeous and super fun to play. Finally playing this for the first time even though this game came out 16 years ago. I get 60 fps in 1440p FSR4.1.1 performance upscaling with ultra settings on my 9070xt. The game will be rough to run on lower end AMD cards so be ready for that.

It looks great and it's the same classic Portal. I'd say that's about as far as the good goes. The bad: the game sometimes doesn't launch and crashes pretty often. You can beat the game in a couple hours and I wouldn't be surprised if it crashed 3+ times. I also had a weird experience where the framer ate would go from smooth to chugging and I had to restart the game to fix that. I still say the original Portal is the best way to experience Portal 1. If you're hungry for a replay, I'd still miss Portal with RTX and try out Portal: Alive and Kicking instead.

Auflösung muss man klein stellen auf 800p sonnst sieht man nichts weil alles winzig ist. GUI lässt sich nicht einzeln verstellen. Deutsche Audio daten vorhanden aber man kann sie nicht auswählen.

After tweaking the settings it ran well. It was cool, but I think at certain times the shiny surfaces of the black walls made it hard to tell if it was a portal surface or not, especially when looking at one that was far away and at an angle. Still, it was fun to play this again with a fresh perspective.

maybe its cuz im on linux and on a 3060 but this ran like ass even still i dont think the RTX of it all enhanced the game for the most part. the escape area with the yellow and orange lighting did look really good though, but it was mostly a nothinburger thats not well optimized and made me somewhat naucious by the glaDOS fight give it a whirl if you got the specs tho

I honestly can't believe this runs on linux. Nvidia Drivers and Proton have come a long way. I got a solid 60 fps until test chamber 10 and then it stayed around 40-60 until the final boss. I'm not saying it ran easily though, fan speed was intense and ran at 100% gpu. I didn't change any settings including resolution so whatever the default is that's what I used. Any messing about with the settings made it run around 14fps and unplayable. It looks very nice and like other reviewers have said the portalable surfaces are a bit ambiguous after the final chamber. I don't think it really matters though, nobody is going to play this before playing og portal and you know what to do anyway right (it's in your brain somewhere). All in all I'd recommend it for portal fans with an RTX card. I'm at the lower end of minimum specs and it ran as expected (just about did it). If you go in with that mindset you'll have a blast.

Excellent visual overhaul of an all-time classic puzzle game. Nothing more, nothing less. Quite demanding on hardware, but worth the performance hit for what it brings.
