Fallout: New Vegas - Lonesome Road

1 / 6

In Lonesome Road you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of Fallout: New Vegas . Ulysses promises the answer as to why he didn’t take the job,but only if you make one last journey into the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. It's up to you whether you take the job or not.

The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned. Is finding answers to your own past worth the risk? Bring all your gear, all your weapons, but leave your companions behind...this is one road you must walk alone. Key Features:

New Terrain - Travel through the tortured landscape of the Divide, a wrecked locale torn apart by storms and earthquakes to find Ulysses, the original Courier Six. Shattered canyons, abandoned missile silos, military bases, and destroyed cityscapes await.

New Enemies - Take on the Tunnelers, the vicious Marked Men, and Ulysses himself!

New Weapons - As you make this treacherous journey you’ll have a series of new weapons at your disposal, including the ‘Red Glare’ Rocket Launcher, a Laser Detonator that can be used to set off abandoned warheads scattered throughout the environment, and a variety of Pre-War ordinance including Flare Guns, Satchel Charges, and Shoulder-Mounted Machine Guns.

New Perks - Lonesome Road increases the level cap by 5 and includes an array of new perks and recipes such as Auto-Inject Stimpaks, Bitter Drink and Snakebite Tourniquet.

Muy buen dlc, con una alta dificultad y una historia que porfin involucra directamente al mensajero. Ademas se agradece que hayan hecho un dlc mas lineal y no otro mundo para explorar con cosas ocultas que no valen la pena (Honest hearts)

Lonesome Road is my favorite of the main 4 DLC's. I thought Ulysses was such a cool character and was very interested. This DLC can be very difficult but it is 100% worth it. Best DLC ending too it was the only DLC that actually effected the main game once you were done with it. 10/10

The cumulation of the Mojave chapter of Fallout. Not just in terms of Ulysses, and the 3 DLCs + main game foreshadowing up to him, but for the Courier, ED-E and the main focus of Fallout. War never changing. I'm impressed that they managed to juggle 3 different storylines so well, mainly by tying The Courier and Ulysses together. However, ED-E being along for the party has some downsides gameplay wise. This DLC can get annoying at times, mainly cause of the tunnelers, giving loads of opportunities for ED-E to get knocked out. The part with the Queen Tunneler is especially ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Additionally, though this is the best looking DLC in terms of visual variation imo, there are moments when the rubble makes it difficult to understand where to go. This especially sucks when you go for the achivements, I had to default to a guide cause I wasn't gonna spend half an hour looking for small eyebots or surprisingly hidden nukes among all the visual clutter and deliberate darkness. However, this DLC delivers the best in terms of atmosphere. It seems inspiration was taken from Fallout 3, they even mention Colonel Autumn and use the Fallout 3 green filter thing at some point. Though I personally wish they didn't touch the mess that is Bethesda's "writing", I can somewhat understand how the two games parallel, especially in terms of an immediate post nuclear environment. This all builds up to a phenomenal ending where you can essentially ask whether you want to create yet another post apocalyptic wasteland and start from scratch again. It's awesome to see NCR and Legion soldiers working together, though I wish we got to see a unique NCR ranger enemy (like on the game cover) specific to the DLC. It should be obvious that this levelling of the playing field should not happen again, though I personally nuked the Legion ♥♥♥♥♥ to save ED-E. So yeah, aside from the visual clutter and those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tunnellers, it's a a strong recommend. You'll probably want to keep in mind though that this is an expectedly hard DLC, as was shown from the high charge price to fully upgrade red glare (about 30,000 caps) and the continued battering of my Tesla armour. Jury rigging is highly recommended.

I think this is the best DLC. Some people complain about the linearity. I think it's nonsense. Some DLCs, especially Dead Money, suffer from too much backtracking or aimless wandering without enough interesting things to discover. Lonesome Road instead keeps it focused, and thanks to that they've managed to create probably the coolest, most polished backdrops in all of Fallout: New Vegas. There's also a bunch of cool lore, encounters and new guns & armours. Great characters, too, the few ones you meet. Multiple endings with different combinations that tickle the RPG brain. I do think it's a little counterintuitive because you get the best rewards from the worst endings. And story-wise, it's a little strange to have your character's backstory told to you, since you've until that point embodied the character. In my head, since the bullet to the head seems to have caused memory loss I figure you've also become a different person from who you were before the injury. Still, get the ultimate edition and play them all. But save this one for last.

its somewhat a good dlc for the fact that they make you buy expensive upgrades for a weak rocket launcher for a single achievement and also the fact that it still crashes like all the other dlcs to some point but its still a kinda good dlc
