Вроде тот же HL, но лишь с небольшим рескином и музыкой от Lazerhawk. Однако, чувствуется вайб боевиков 80-ых и 90-ых, и играется бодро. Правда коротковато...

Half Life: Caged is a short first person shooter built as a free modification for the original Half Life, and I think it does a really good job of capturing that old school feeling without trying to become a huge game. I start out trapped inside a prison and have to find my way out while dealing with guards, locked areas, environmental puzzles and plenty of shooting. The whole thing is focused on getting me through the facility and out to freedom, so there is very little wasted time. I like that because the game gets straight into what it wants to be. The level design is probably what I enjoyed most. The prison is not just a series of rooms where I walk forward and shoot whatever appears. I have to look around for switches, pipes, vents and other ways through the facility, and there are moments where I need to work out how the different areas connect. I also like how the game occasionally gives me a choice between fighting directly and finding a smarter way through. It feels very much like an older style shooter where exploring the environment matters just as much as aiming. The weapons are another strong part for me. The game takes the familiar Half Life shooting style and gives it its own changes, including the funny plunger that replaces the usual crowbar. The combat is quick and generally satisfying, especially when I get into larger fights and have to move around rather than simply standing still. There are also explosive moments that fit the prison escape idea really well. The soundtrack from Lazerhawk is a surprisingly good match too, giving the whole thing a strong retro feeling that makes the old GoldSrc visuals feel intentional rather than simply outdated. The biggest problem for me is the length. This is a very short game, and I can finish the main campaign in roughly an hour. I actually think the short length works for the idea, but it does limit how high I can rate it. There are some bonus features and developer commentary to give me more to look at afterwards, but I still finish feeling like I have only just got into the experience before it ends. I would have liked another few areas or a little more variety in the situations. I also think the combat can be rough in places. The enemies are mostly guards, so there is not a huge amount of enemy variety, and some encounters can feel more difficult than they need to be because of the older weapon balance and limited resources. I have to be a little more careful with health and ammunition than I might expect from a modern shooter. That can actually make the prison escape feel more tense, but there are moments where the difficulty feels slightly awkward rather than naturally challenging. What saves it for me is how much personality the whole thing has. It clearly understands the style of classic Half Life and older shooters, but it does not simply copy the original game. The prison setting gives the campaign a clear identity, the strange little details make exploring more enjoyable and the Lazerhawk soundtrack gives it a really distinctive atmosphere. I also like that the game is completely free as long as I own Half Life, so I can experience the whole campaign without having to spend anything extra. Overall, Half Life: Caged is a short but genuinely enjoyable shooter that I think gets a lot right for what it is trying to do. I like the prison setting, level design, environmental puzzles, shooting and especially the atmosphere created by the soundtrack and old school presentation. The short campaign and limited enemy variety stop it from reaching the higher ratings I give to much larger games, but I do not think the game needs to be much longer to be worthwhile. For me, it is a compact Half Life experience that is easy to recommend when I want a quick classic style FPS rather than another massive campaign. Rating: 7.8/10

Firstly, the soundtracks are good, the mod looks great. The story is short and simple But firstly, the difficulties, medium mode is extremely unbalanced, any bullet from a soldier will automatically get you killed. The guns the game provides you are a bumsmacker, especially when you need to hit soldiers from rough angles, which I hate so much. I mostly walked through the game with an SMG, crossbow and a revolver in easy mode. The whole gun system and the soldiers extremely high health made me loose interest in playing this crap. I wish I didn't play this tbh

Half-Life: C.A.G.E.D. is short. That said, be prepared for a serious challenge. Even on the easiest difficulty, the enemies have pinpoint accuracy. You cannot simply take cover and wait. You have to be constantly moving and aggressive to survive. I managed to finish the main story in about 1.2 hours, and while the gameplay is great, I definitely wished there was more of it. The world and premise are interesting, but the story feels a bit too brief and leaves you wanting more. Performance-wise, it ran flawlessly on my setup. I played it on an Acer Aspire 16 AI laptop (Intel Core Ultra 5 226V, Intel Arc 130V GPU, 16GB RAM) with a gorgeous 2K 120Hz OLED screen, and the game looked fantastic. The dark, gritty environments really popped on the OLED panel. I even installed the game on a Micro SD card and experienced zero issues, which is a nice bonus. It also runs without a hitch on Windows 11, so you don't have to worry about compatibility. My only real complaint is the lack of Steam Achievements. It would have been a great addition to encourage replayability and track your progress through this tough campaign. I hope the developers consider adding them in a future update.

If you want more Half-Life 1 (from a Valve employee no less), play this hour-long mod. Although the last time I played this was the day it released in 2017, I recall it being a blast. It's action-packed with tight level design and great gameplay variety. The environments really look like they're pushing GoldSrc to its limits in all the best ways. It's also free—so give it a try!
